A unique glimpse of the French lifestyle

Custom Wine Tours of the Bordeaux region of SW France - If you have a group of 4-6 persons, we can design a guided tour with a duration of 5-6 days during the months of  September, October or early November 2009, and March, April, May, and early June 2010 **

Explore the countryside and taste wines in the regions around Bordeaux - Pessac-Leognan, Monbazillac, Fronsac, Bergerac and the

Medoc (Pauillac, Margaux, etc..).

  • We'll take tours of wineries, each with different methods of wine making.
  • Explore the hillside town of Saint Emilion where there will be several hours free to sample wines,  taste macaroons still warm

from the oven, visit artisan's shops, tour the underground church carved out of rock by Benedictine monks, and enjoy the view from the

ramparts of the countless vineyards surrounding the town.

  • Tour the restored and furnished chateaux of La Brede Roquetaillade & Monbazillac (a sweet white dessert wine is also made there).
  • Dine at our hosts' table on delicious regional cuisines and wines.

All Tours Includes:

  • Accommodations in great 3 star B&B's (all rooms w/private bath)
  • Continental breakfast each morning

  • Full lunch daily
  • Dinner each evening - multiple courses w/wine
  • Entrance fees to all sights/wineries
  • Ground transportation (minivan) & guide/driver

Not Included: airfare or train to/from Bordeaux, travel insurance

We are not able to accommodate any special needs (physical or dietary),

and accept only those persons at least 21 years of age. All tours are nonsmoking.

NOTE: This tour requires climbing a flight of stairs at B&B's, 2-3 flights at attractions, walking at least

1/2 mile at a moderate pace, and negotiating several blocks of hilly cobblestone streets. Also, most roads in the region are curving two lane blacktops, so those with a tendency toward motion sickness need to be aware and bring appropriate medications.

A combination of the Wine Tour & Dordogne Valley Tour may also be designed with durations

of 6-9 days, during the months of May, early June, September, October and early November 2010.
